My design decisions are influenced by my background in both designing and building projects while growing up in the country.  The projects include one during one of my three spring break service trips with the Navigators Christian campus ministry group.  This project was helping a church layout and begin construction of a dormitory for the upper level of a barn. The most recent of these projects entailed, designing and fabricating a desk out of steel tubing, granite, glass, and oak.

I draw on a wide influence of styles which include Classical, Renaissance, vernacular, Gothic, and futuristic which all come together to give me inspiration and ideas to draw on for my design decisions.

My interest in architecture has been lifelong and I have been exposed to many styles of architecture in my travels. I have been able to travel all around the United States of America, including: Up and down my home state of California, various parts of Texas, Atlanta, and New Orleans, Louisiana. In the summer of 2015 I had the opportunity to participate in the Texas Tech faculty led study abroad program in Spain. We visited the cities of Barcelona, LaGuardia, Bilbao, Salamanca, Burgos, Seville, Santiponce, Italica, Cordoba, Granada, Burgos, Cadiz, and Madrid along with Porto, Portugal. I believe traveling can often be the best education. Being exposed to different styles of architecture has only influenced my career decision in wanting to be an architect.
